Cosette Pulido
Southwest Senior High SchoolCosette Pulido has been a diligent AP and gifted student during her high school years achieving a 5.8 weighted GPA. She has accumulated 450 community service hours volunteering at Miami Children’s Hospital and assisting in many health walks and food drives with the Da Vinci Society. She has also been an active member in six other clubs: Phi Beta Chi, Mu Alpha Theta, the English Honor Society, the Art Honor Society, the National Honor Society, and the Social Studies Honor Society. Cosette is going to attend Florida International University in the fall and major in biology. She is very grateful to have received the Anthony’s Light Scholarship which will assist her in achieving her dream of attending medical school and becoming a pediatrician.
Jocelyn Alvarez
Florida International UniversityEntering her senior year at Florida International University, Jocelyn Alvarez is pursuing a dual degree in Statistics and Economics along with a Certificate in Actuarial Science. She has obtained multiple leadership roles on campus including Peer Advisor, Secretary of the Council for Student Organizations, and Homecoming’s Special Events MMC chair. In Fall 2013, Jocelyn became a sister of Delta Phi Epsilon. She is grateful to have been chance to receive this scholarship and will be using it to fund her flight ticket to Italy for her study abroad program this summer.
